It is the second of four droid transports Lego has released, and the only one with an open design, based on the Platoon Attack Craft (PAC), which can be seen in Star Wars Episode I, Episode III, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The Battle Droid Carrier was released by Lego in 2001 as part of its Star Wars line, tying into the release of 'Episode 1: The Phantom Menace' two years earlier.
